LEEDS RHINOS head coach Brad Arthur was happy with the effort of his side but felt some of the detail was missing in the 26-14 defeat at Leigh Leopards.
He acknowledged issues in both defence and attack as Leeds’ season had a disappointing start.
“I’m really happy with our effort and our fight. We had some good periods of physicality,” said Arthur.
“But (we lacked) some detail on some kicks in the second half… (for) two scrappy tries that you can’t afford at this time of the year, early in the season.
“Some red‑zone penalties (were also an issue) that we’ll have to have a look at, just giving teams a leg‑up.
“We were probably at times a bit disjointed with the ball. There are a couple of different reasons around that, but I’m just happy with the effort and happy with the fight.
“When it got to 26 (points conceded) we kept fighting and we kept showing good levels of physicality and energy, and we didn’t give up.”
