Huddersfield Giants boss both encouraged and disappointed

LUKE ROBINSON felt a first Super League victory of the season was in Huddersfield Giants’ grasp at Bradford Bulls.

Huddersfield led for a short period of the second half and only trailed by two points heading into the final five minutes, but Bradford prevailed 26-14.

“We were dominant in the first half and we should have made more of that, but we just didn’t offer enough,” reflected Robinson.

“In the second half we gave two seven-tackle sets away and it put pressure on us but we needed to have more resilience and work harder for the badge.

“Things are just slightly off for us at the moment but I’m so frustrated because we should have got something from the game.

“For long periods I felt that we could and should have won and expressed ourselves a little more with the ball.

“There were loads of good signs. The new faces are young, enthusiastic and brought a breath of fresh air in.

“At the end the middles were goosed – they gave their all but we kept giving them the ball back and it came back to bite us.

“I feel when we get everyone back we can do a good job.”
