JIM LENIHAN said simplicity was the key to Huddersfield Giants’ 26-10 win at Toulouse Olympique.
A fourth straight victory took Huddersfield off the foot of the Super League table, replaced by Bradford Bulls on points difference.
“We started off the first half okay,” said Lenihan. “We got the first try then conceded but Toulouse lost their halfback (Jake) Shorrocks which helped our cause.
“We were down to twelve men for 20 minutes (through second-half yellow cards for Tristan Powell and Taane Milne) and we are really trying to work hard on our defence and work hard for each other. We are really happy and proud of our boys.
“We’ve been trying to simplify our game and not complicate ourselves – the big thing to work on for us has been to keep things simple.
“Things aren’t always going to go to plan and there are parts of our game that aren’t perfect but we want to make things better and work harder for each other.
“Overall I was very pleased about how we went today. I’m very pleased for the boys today but also for the whole squad – we’re really training hard which is showing in all our grades, even the lower grades, and we’re really seeing the benefit and a pick-up in their games.
“We are all rubbing along together which is really pleasing.”
