Oldham living the High life after taking Wakefield Trinity prop on loan

OLDHAM have added Wakefield Trinity prop Noah High to their squad ahead of the Championship play-offs.

The 21-year-old has arrived at the Roughyeds on loan – without a recall clause – after the departure of Leigh Leopards frontrower Lazarus Vaalepu, who is now on a temporary deal at Castleford Tigers.

High has yet to play at first-team level for Wakefield, who signed him from Warrington Wolves ahead of last season.

But he has had previous loan stints at Whitehaven (from Warrington) and Workington Town and Batley Bulldogs (from Wakefield).

“I will bring physicality,” he said. “I work hard and do the tough stuff. I have quite a lot of experience at this level.

“I am looking forward to ripping in – I will hopefully play at the weekend (Oldham host Salford on Sunday), put my best foot forward and have a good run into the play-offs.”

Kilshaw, whose third-placed side on Sunday became the first to beat leaders London Broncos in a league match this year (with Vaalepu in the team), added: “Noah will give us some depth and variation.

“We’re in a good place, but we just wanted to safeguard against any injuries.”
