Bradford Bulls pair come in for praise as Kurt Haggerty makes Andy Ackers claim

BRADFORD BULLS head coach Kurt Haggerty has waxed lyrical about Eliot Peposhi and Andy Ackers.

Whilst Ackers has been an ever-present for the Bulls during the 2026 Super League campaign, Peposhi has sat the last two of Bradford’s games due to suspension.

And though he is out with suspension following an indiscretion in the away loss to St Helens, Haggerty has praised Peposhi for the work he has done to bring himself back into contention for selection.

“Eliot has had a mini pre-season. He has been doing the extra training and has done the extra reps,” Haggerty said.

“He has gone back and reflected on his game and what he’s done so far in Super League.

“He is very studious, he has been great in the environment. He is pushing everyone else every week as he trains with a very high intensity.

“Eliot is always learning and now he’s waiting for another opportunity to get out there on the field.”

Haggerty also had kind words for Andy Ackers, who has been enjoying some consistent rugby in recent weeks.

Ackers linked up with the Bulls ahead of the 2026 Super League campaign from bitter rivals Leeds Rhinos, where he made just 11 appearances in 2025.

Injury and form kept the 32-year-old out of the Leeds side in favour of Jarrod O’Connor, but Haggerty believes Ackers is happy on and off the field

“Andy has been absolutely fantastic. When Andy is happy, he plays his best rugby.

“He is getting a lot of minutes. I tasked him with a few things to get him back playing to what he used to.

“What I will say is that Andy is enjoying his rugby again, but I don’t think he’s got a point to prove.

“I just want Andy to go out and play his best style of rugby.

“I don’t want him to look too deep into anything.”
