Jamie Dallimore signs new Rochdale Hornets deal at 37

ROCHDALE HORNETS chairman Andy Mazey reckons retaining Jamie Dallimore for next season is a smart bit of business.

The experienced halfback has penned a contract extension after impressing in his twelve outings since since moving from North Wales.

Dallimore, 37, arrived having helped Crusaders win the 2025 League One title, and has also played for Oldham and Barrow.

At the latter, he was involved in two promotions from the third tier (2017 and 2021) and in the first of those years, also helped the Raiders land the League One Cup.

Dallimore’s commitment to a further campaign follows the announcement of a two-year contract extension for popular threequarter TJ Boyd.

Moving up from League One, Rochdale have won five from 13 in the merged second tier this time around, and are also in the 1895 Cup semi-finals, and are keen to keep moving forward.

“Dalli is a key member of our squad, and a great character to have around the place,” said Mazey.

“He’s a leader and a fierce competitor, both in training and on the pitch, and has contributed massively to the vastly improved culture this year.

“It was important to retain his services as we look to finish this season strongly and target further progress in 2027.”

Dallimore added: “The chance to work with Gary Thornton and his staff was a no-brainer for me and I’m delighted to be given the opportunity to go round again.

“I understand what the club is trying to do, on and off the field, and I want to contribute to that.

“I still feel like I have something to give. The fire still burns inside me to keep going.

“For now, my full concentration will be on finishing this season as best we can as a group.”
