ROCHDALE HORNETS have signed Harvey Braddish from St Helens on a deal for the rest of this season after releasing his fellow backrower Dylan Kelly-Duffy, who had made 15 appearances this year after seven on loan from Wigan last season.

Braddish, 20, has been playing for Saints Reserves, and Hornets chairman Andy Mazey said: “He is an athletic player who has been well schooled in a strong system.”

Kelly-Duffy, also 20, has joined Swinton to be reunited with his twin and fellow forward Trent, with whom he came through the Wigan development system.

The pair played alongside each other when Wigan beat St Helens to win the Academy Grand Final in 2024.  

“We wish Dylan well,” said Hornets, who are already working on their squad plans for 2027.

They have six matches of this season remaining, starting at Barrow on Saturday and including a midweek visit to Dewsbury on Wednesday, August 19.

And prop Chris Barratt says it’s important for Gary Thornton’s side to finish as strongly as possible.

After seven years in the old League One, it’s taking time for Rochdale to get to grips with the merged second tier.

And experienced Barratt, brought in from North Wales in late March to help with the process, said: “We know we are capable of winning matches if we fix the mistakes we’ve been repeating.”
