MAX Wood has returned to Hull FC on a one-month loan from Warrington Wolves.
The prop, who featured twice for the Black and Whites in June, goes straight into contention for Thursday’s derby against Hull KR.
During his first spell, Wood came off the bench in Hull’s home matches against Huddersfield Giants (won 36-12) and Wakefield Trinity (lost 36-10), before being recalled by his parent club halfway through an intended one-month loan.
Warrington retain a recall clause for the 22-year-old, who went straight into the side upon his return, going on to feature against Catalans Dragons, Leigh Leopards and Wigan Warriors.
However, Sam Burgess didn’t select him for last week’s 34-12 win over the Robins, and he now returns to East Yorkshire.
Wood’s return is a timely one for Hull, with Yusuf Aydin suffering a category one head knock in Saturday’s 32-22 defeat to Leigh, automatically ruling him out of the derby clash.
