Workington Town forwards sign on for 2027

WORKINGTON TOWN will have forwards Bear Williams and Lucas Castle back next year.

London-born former rugby union (Cornish Pirates) and New South Wales Cup (South Sydney Rabbitohs) player Williams made 23 appearances this year, featuring in both the front row and at loose-forward.

He signed for Town in January after a pre-season stint at Warrington and has now agreed a contract extension.

Incoming coach Brad Singleton said: “Bear choosing to remain shows a belief in the club, the direction we’re heading and the environment we’re trying to build.”

Irish international Castle will enter his third season since joining from Whitehaven, having played 41 times across the first two.

“I’ve no doubt Lucas will play a big part in what we’re trying to achieve next year, both on and off the field,” added Singleton.
