WHITEHAVEN talisman Ciaran Walker hopes he can play his part in steering the club to go one better in the play-offs in 2027.
The halfback scored 13 tries and 87 goals as Haven earned a ninth-place finish before losing out 36-4 to the Hurricanes in the eliminators, a vast improvement on their eighth-place League One standing the previous year.
The 23-year-old Seaton Rangers product has only flourished under James Newton – who took over at the helm in March following Anthony Murray’s resignation – and has no doubt the club can continue its upward trajectory under his guidance.
Speaking on the Beyond Super League podcast, the halfback admitted: “As a club, we’ve got to have that aspiration to get back into the playoffs and go that one game further.
“We’ve got new signings so it’s going to be a bit of a different team, and by the sounds of it we’re going to be playing a different style of rugby, so I’m looking forward to that and seeing how that goes about.”
