‘A win for character’: Beaming Paul Rowley shares pride in Salford Red Devils

SALFORD boss Paul Rowley said he was proud of his cobbled-together Red Devils side, after they grabbed a first away win of the season.

A heroic performance earned a 12-25 victory at Warrington Wolves.

“It meant more than the two points which don’t mean anything at this point,” said Rowley.

“We are always fighting and never give up and today reflected that in many respects.

“In a sport that prides itself on giving people a chance, you don’t need loads of money to play this sport, you just need a ball and a pair of old boots and you can play.

“We have everything apart from a load of money in our pocket and I am very proud of the very fabric and tapestry of Salford Red Devils.

“We had the belief to solve problems but more than anything, we had the will and desire to solve problems. It was a win for our character.”
