Adrian Lam toasts ‘special night’ for Leigh Leopards

ADRIAN LAM hailed a “special night” for Leigh Leopards after the club recorded their biggest-ever Super League win.

A 62-10 scoreline against Bradford Bulls surpassed a 54-4 victory at Hull FC two years ago.

And the head coach believes Leigh are playing the best attacking rugby in the league at present.

“It was a pretty special night for the club,” said Lam.

“The first half was reasonably good in what I wanted to see from the team, then overall I’m really pleased with second half. To score 48 points was incredible.

“We scored some magnificent tries during the game. We move the ball better than anyone in the competition, I believe.

“Tonight it just all clicked for us. I thought the two halves, (Lachlan) Lam and (Adam) Cook, were outstanding.

“Edwin (Ipape), when he came on, his involvement with (Liam) Horne and the halves was great, and our forward pack was brilliant. There was a lot to like about tonight.

“It’s nice to get some points scored (in the table) as well – it certainly gives us a boost.”

Leigh head towards the play-offs in excellent form, winning eight of their last nine including the previous week’s impressive success at Leeds Rhinos.

“I knew we were going to get a lot of confidence out of the win against Leeds,” added Lam.

“There’s a lot of excitement about the way we play. I thought we were tough last week and a bit more flamboyant this week.”
