CATALANS DRAGONS have confirmed the signing of Castleford Tigers captain Alex Mellor on a two-year contract.
The back-rower has been allowed to leave Castleford despite having a year still to run on his deal there.
A veteran of more than 200 Super League games, having also played for Bradford Bulls, Huddersfield Giants and Leeds Rhinos, Mellor follows ex-Hull KR winger and fellow 31-year-old Joe Burgess in moving to Perpignan.
Dragons coach John Cartwright, who has also signed Luciano Leilua, Tyson Gamble, Jesse Arthars, Amir Bourouh, Arthur Romano and Luca Walsh, said: “Alex is another experienced player to add to the squad.
“He brings size and speed to our back row. He will be great for our young forwards to learn from.”
Centre/backrower Matthieu Laguerre has signed a new deal for next season, with the option for 2028.
