Allgood set to hand Robins major injury boost

Hull KR coach Chris Chester has revealed that forward Mitch Allgood is set to hand the club a huge boost this weekend by returning for the game against Halifax.

Allgood has only played eight times in Super League this year having injured his shoulder all the way back in April, but will play against the Championship side this weekend as the Robins look to strengthen their grip on a place in the top three in The Qualifiers.

And Chester admits he will be like a new signing when he returns, saying he will hand the club a massive boost.

“Mitch will definitely play against Halifax. He trained all last week and has done a lot of contact work with the boys,” Chester told the Hull Daily Mail.

“It’ll be a massive boost for us going into the next round of the middle 8s.

“We had eight props at the start of the season, but thankfully now, the injury front is looking up a little bit and it’ll be great to have Mitch back.

“He’s a very good player and very tough at that. He runs hard and I’m looking forward to having him back, as are the boys.”
