Mullaney believes two wins could be vital for Bradford

Bradford Bulls fullback Jake Mullaney believes wins in their next two Qualifiers matches against Wakefield and Salford would see them “almost there” in terms of promotion back to Super League.

Bradford won their opening Super 8s match against Sheffield last year and are currently top of the developing table ahead of the trip to Belle Vue on Saturday.

And Mullaney told the Telegraph and Argus that the Wakefield game is “almost must-win”, and if they can back that one up with another win against Salford next week too, the return to Super League at the first attempt could be inching ever closer.

“Wakefield is a big game for us and it’s almost must-win, even though we are already one win from one,” he said.

“I think if we can get past them and Salford, then we are almost there. It’s a big couple of weeks from us to see how we go.”
