WHITEHAVEN have secured the return of winger Andrew Bulman for a second spell.
Bulman, who has penned a two-year contract, began his professional career with the club, scoring 45 tries in 67 appearances across four seasons.
He joined Barrow Raiders ahead of the 2023 season and maintained a strong try-scoring rate, registering 42 in 81 games.
The 26-year-old may have already made his final Raiders appearance, as he has not been named in their 21-man squad for Sunday’s ‘sudden-death’ play-off tie at Doncaster.
Meanwhile, Haven captain Jordan Burns is leaving the professional game after two seasons back at his first club.
The 31-year-old fullback or threequarter had six years at Haven up to 2019 before returning to his nearby amateur side Kells.
Burns was signed by Workington for the 2023 campaign, then followed coach Anthony Murray when he moved to the Ortus REC ahead of the 2025 season.
Nicknamed Budsy, the Cumbria representative player has been hampered by injuries, including a fractured eye socket and knee problems, over the last two years, restricting him to 23 appearances, with ten tries and 14 goals.
He was contracted to the end of next season, but has decided to step away.
“All at the club would like to thank Jordan for the hard work, effort and determination he has shown to overcome his injuries and get back onto the field,” said Whitehaven.
Coach James Newton is planning for his first full campaign in charge after stepping up from assistant to replace Murray when he stood down in March and guiding his side to ninth place and the play-offs.
