Another NRL player keen to head to NFL

After the impressive debut of Jarryd Hayne in the NFL over the weekend, another NRL player has said he’d like to follow in Hayne’s footsteps and have a crack at it.

Wests Tigers prop Martin Taupau is still under contract at the NRL club next season, but he has already expressed an interest in following the former Parramatta star and changing his arm in American Football.

“(Hayne has) paved the way for NRL players,” Taupau told 7 News.

“For myself I’m itching to go over there. I’ve given it a lot of thought and incorporated a lot of drills that they over in the NFL with agility and put that onto my training as well,” he said.

“I would love to go over there when the Combine starts next year and see how I go up against the best.”
