Atkins handed suspension

Ryan Atkins has been handed a one-match ban and fined £300 after being found guilty to a Grade C dangerous contact charge.

Although the offence normally entails a two to three match suspension, Atkins’s exemplary disciplinary record means the band was reduced to just one game.

The following cases were also heard tonight by an independent disciplinary committee and the outcomes are as below:

Eloi Pelissier (Catalans Dragons) – Pleaded guilty to Grade A tripping on Talanoa of Hull FC in the 69th minute of their Ladbrokes Challenge Cup quarter-final, £300 fine was issued.

Michael Knowles (Sheffield Eagles) – Pleaded not guilty to a Grade B dangerous throw in 72nd minute on Atkins (Swinton Lions) – found not guilty.

The following players have taken the option of an Early Guilty Plea:

George Tyson (Sheffield Eagles) – Grade C Dangerous Throw – 2 match suspension

Dave Allen (Whitehaven RLFC) – Grade B Foul and abusive language towards a Match Official – 1 match suspension

Danny Brough (Huddersfield Giants) – Grade B High tackle – 1 match suspension
