Bailey set for Castleford debut as Solomona returns

Castleford Tigers are poised to hand Ryan Bailey a debut for the club this Sunday, after he was named in Daryl Powell’s 19-man squad to face Catalans.

As well as Bailey’s debut, Castleford will also bring back winger Denny Solomona into the fold, after several weeks out on the sidelines injured.

Solomona said: “It will be good to get out there with the boys, we’ve been a bit inconsitent but hopefully we can step it up this week. I’m just looking to get stuck in there on Sunday.”

“I’m excited to get back on the field. Daryl gave me this chance and I’ll grab it with both hands. I’m ready to rip in.” said Bailey.

James Clare is out after being sent on dual-reg to York, whilst Frankie Mariano could also return to the match day 17. Youngster Ash Robson is expected to continue on the wing.

Castleford squad to face Catalans: Bailey, Boyle, Channing, Finn, Gale, Gibson, Holmes, Lynch, Maher, Mariano, Massey, Millington, Moore, Roberts, Robson, Shenton, Solomona, Tansey, Wheeldon.
