BARROW ISLAND, of the National Conference Cumbria, produced a real shock result with a 13-12 win over National League Premier giants Hunslet ARLFC.
The Island will host holders Orrell St James in the second round after Ellis Archer landed a field-goal in the second period of ‘golden point’.
The south Leeds side had levelled from 12-0 down with Lewis Heckford’s conversions of tries by Tommy Corke and Harry Dodd.
Barrow Island led through a Trent Ruddy brace, Archer adding both goals.
BRISTOL ALL GOLDS, of the National Conference South, opened and closed the scoring at National Conference Yorkshire B outfit SKIRLAUGH with tries by Luke Davies and David Weetman, the first of which Harrison Clifford improved.
In between, the Hull side had the better of exchanges, registering a 36-10 victory with a brace apiece for Tom Gray, Josh Atkinson and Mikey Turner, a Ross Kemp touchdown and four Josh Atkinson goals.
Cumbrians DISTINGTON restored parity against WOOLSTON ROVERS from 10-0 down with tries by Callum Fox and Kelvin Lynch, one of which Kieran Worthington goaled.
The Warrington side, though, went on to win 26-10 with unanswered touchdowns for Jake Rogerson, Jimmy Wallace and Jack McCarthy, plus the last two of Ryan Brown’s three goals. Simon Bishop and Matty Bowden had crossed earlier for Rovers.
