THE 2016-17 BARLA County Tri-Series at Open Age and Under 19s gets underway on Sunday (13 November) when Yorkshire entertain Cumbria in a double-header at Sandal RUFC, Wakefield.

Yorkshire’s Youth squad, coached by Richard Hunter (Birstall Victoria), Phil Thackeray (Whinmoor) and Jason Lee (Bradford Dudley Hill), has been named as George Woodcock (Thornhill Trojans), Paul Foulstone, Reece Borbely, George Senior (all Dewsbury Celtic), Elliot Culling (Wibsey Warriors), Jordan Taylor (Kinsley Raiders), Tom Forrest, Matthew Stephenson (Stanningley), John Bownass, Jacob Crosswell (Dewsbury Moor), Harry Shelly, Dalton Halford (Eastmoor Dragons), Ethan Hallis (Drighlington), Connor Iddon (York Acorn), Logan Pitts (Queens), Luke Shaw (Hull Wyke), Steven Clarke, Brad Gotts (Skirlaugh), Brandon Dyson, Jacob Fozzard (Birstall Victoria), Morgan Punchard (Fryston Warriors), and Joe Halloran (Shaw Cross Sharks).

The Tykes have not yet confirmed their Open Age squad.

Cumbria’s Under 19s are: Jordan O’Leary, Kieran Mewes, Ellis Mewes, Jack Nixon Earl, Grant Reid, Billy Southward (all Seaton Rangers), Patrick Bennett (Egremont Rangers), Rhys Burr (Ellenborough Rangers), Gary Armstrong (Aspatria), Dean Rooney, Owen McCartney, Curtis Tear, Rhys Pritchard, Lewis Pritchard, Mark Miller, Conner Molyneux (all Wath Brow Hornets), Bailey Morton (Kells), Tom Askew (Askam).

Lancashire, meanwhile, will meet the losers of the Open Age game at the next stage of the Series, on a date yet to be confirmed; Cumbria, if they lose at Sandal, will have home advantage while Yorkshire would have to travel.
