BATLEY BULLDOGS coach James Ford is more than happy to have Ben Reynolds back on board for 2027, believing the experienced pivot could still do a job in Super League.
The 32-year-old has represented Castleford, Leigh, Wakefield and both Hull clubs in the top flight.
Ford and Reynolds worked together in the Championship at Featherstone – and the latter was among the former’s first signings when he took the Batley reins twelve months ago.
The Pontefract-born player who came through the Castleford Academy made 25 appearances for the tenth-placed Bulldogs this year, notching nine tries and kicking 83 goals.
And after Reynolds agreed a contract extension, Ford said: “Ben is a very talented player who would be a stand-out in any Championship team and some in Super League.
“I was impressed with how he operated. He took part in 98 percent of our training sessions and took a lead in the development of the team and our younger players.
“I see his influence expanding and I am excited about watching him continue to grow as a person and help our squad development.”
Centre Felix Ellis and second rower Dane Manning had previously agreed terms for 2027, with fullback Robbie Butterworth since following.
