BRAD ARTHUR has revealed Harry Newman will keep his place for Leeds Rhinos in their clash against St Helens on Thursday night.
Arthur brought back Jack Bird from injury into the 21-man squad for the game, but now Arthur has revealed that the Australian isn’t quite at full fitness yet.
“I’ve got out of the dilemma pretty lightly, I was hoping it would be difficult but Jack just isn’t quite ready yet,” Arthur said.
“Because our squad is in a good position, we don’t need to rush any players.
“And Harry had one of his better games in his last game which creates that nice, healthy competition.”
Jeremiah Mata’utia and Ethan O’Neill are both on loan at Hull FC, with their loan periods coming to an end next week.
Hull have already outlined their desire to keep the duo, but Arthur will reassess moving forward.
“Hull are happy with those guys and we will reassess where we are at,” he said.
“If we feel reasonably covered and healthy, and they still need game time, then we will look at it again.
