BRADFORD BULLS boss Kurt Haggerty is set to hand a debut to Harvey Ward in the club’s clash against Toulouse Olympique this weekend.
That’s because injuries have yet again taken their toll on the Bulls, who have faced an unprecedented number this season.
Ethan Ryan (thumb), Joe Keyes (back), Zac Fulton (neck), Dan Russell, Phoenix Steinwide (both HIA) will all miss out through injury, whilst forward Loghan Lewis is suspended.
That has left Bradford with just 16 fit players for the trip to France, with Haggerty set to delve into the academy to fill the remainder of his squad.
“At this moment I’ve got a squad of 33 and 17 players available,” explained the head coach.
“Right now I’m not 100 percent sure how but we will get 17 players for this weekend.
“The loan deadline has gone so it will be from the academy and reserves and it could be potentially Harvey Ward.
“Harvey Ward is an exciting and outside back. He is not actually a full-time player so he works as well as trains so it would be an unbelievable opportunity.”
With three games to go until the end of the season, Haggerty insists that his players can’t feel sorry for themselves.
“If we do that then we will lose all of our games,” he warned.
“Our head physio dreads coming into my office because it’s always bad news.”
