Bradford Bulls new signing set to miss start of Super League season

BRADFORD BULLS will be without new signing Will Gardiner for the start of the 2026 Super League season.

Gardiner was released by Hull FC at the end of the 2025 campaign, but Bradford head coach Kurt Haggerty has revealed that the 24-year-old will miss the opening month of the new campaign with a hamstring injury.

“Everybody barring Will Gardiner will be in contention for Leeds, if not definitely round one,” Haggerty said when asked about injuries after Bradford’s 30-12 win over Doncaster at the weekend.

“It’s just a longer hamstring tear so we’re probably looking at maybe around March or April.”

Guy Armitage also missed out after penning a new deal for 2026, but Haggerty has given a better prognosis on the winger.

“It’s just a slight hamstring tear, he should be back for round one, round two latest,” Haggerty said on Armitage.

Meanwhile, the Bulls also lost Sam Hallas to concussion during the win over Doncaster.

“Sam has been struggling with sickness all week as well, so he’s been really struggling,” Haggerty said on Hallas.

“I’d have liked to have seen more game time and seen more of Sam, but the HIA and the sickness really affected his performance today.

“I didn’t get to see the best version of Sam that I would have liked today, purely due to his illness.”
