KURT HAGGERTY believes Bradford Bulls “need to be in Super League”.
The Bulls earned promotion to the top flight for this season via the IMG gradings, earning a score of 14.81 to finish tenth overall in the grading table.
Since then, the club has gone from strength to strength, with chief executive Jason Hirst already confirming that the Bulls’ score will improve in the next round of grading at the end of this season.
Large attendances, a competitive Super League side and a trip to Las Vegas in 2027 have rejuvenated a Bradford club that had spent over a decade outside of the top flight.
And Haggerty, who was appointed Bradford boss ahead of the 2026 season, believes that the Bulls more than deserve a place in the top flight.
“You look at the game over at Huddersfield, I think there were probably more Bulls fans in the stadium than there was Huddersfield fans,” he said of the recent win over the Giants, their sixth back in Super League and first away from home.
“The noise they make every week, no matter where we’ve been, shows that this club needs to be in the Super League.
“It shows that this club is a big club that is striving to be big again and quickly.
“The positives of us being back in the Super League are the fanbase we have, the size of the club and how quickly and how impatiently we want success.”
Haggerty has also praised the two fellow promoted teams, Toulouse Olympique and York Knights – who also each had six wins to their name ahead of the weekend.
“I think it’s pretty incredible if I’m honest,” Haggerty said of their achievements.
“All the promoted teams were predicted to fall off a cliff so to be away from the bottom at this point is incredible.”
