Huddersfield Giants are sweating over the fitness of star forward Brett Ferres, after he picked up a knee injury during their narrow win against Hull Kingston Rovers. The win, which moves the Giants up to fourth place on the Super League ladder, was Huddersfield’s ninth in the last ten games.
However, an injury to Ferres inevitably took the gloss off the result, and boss Paul Anderson admits they will have to play a waiting game to determine just how bad the injury is.
“Until we’ve had him scanned we obviously can’t say for certain,” said Anderson.
“But, hopefully, it’s not too bad. All we know is that he’s got some damage to his MCL (medial cruciate ligament).
“That’s one of the disappointments of last night, as was our total lack of respect for possession at times. I’ve just said to them ‘imagine how good you could be if you could hold onto the ball!’
