BRODIE CROFT has admitted his love for Leeds Rhinos but has explained that ‘a lot can happen’ in rugby league with the halfback’s contract running out at the end of the 2026 Super League season.
Croft signed a three-year deal to sign with the Headingley outfit ahead of the 2024 campaign, and has since gone on to make over 50 appearances.
With that in mind, the 28-year-old continues to revel in his love for the club as well as the city.
“I love it, it’s a great club, it’s a great city and we’ve got a great ground to play at,” Croft told League Express.
“There is a really good feeling amongst the boys. Brad Arthur has brought a really good culture to us and everyone is buying into it.
“It’s a really enjoyable place to work.”
So does Croft see his future lie at Headingley?
“Most of that will be dealt with my manager but a lot can happen in rugby league.
“It’s a long season ahead but my job is to play footy and my manager’s job is to worry about that sort of thing.
“I will worry about playing the best footy I can for Leeds Rhinos.”
Does Croft want to stay?
“I like Leeds, I really enjoy it here. I’ve been here for two great years, going into my third year.
“There are a great bunch of boys to be around, with a great coaching staff and some really good systems in place.
“I’m enjoying it here.”
However, there had been question marks over how Croft would negotiate his future given that his manager, Chris Orr, has been suspended for six months and fined $10,000.
It was alleged Mr Orr breached the NRL Accredited Agent Scheme Rules and the Accredited Agents’ Code of Conduct following a physical altercation with agent Nash Dawson following the Australian Secondary Schools Rugby League Championships in 2024.
Croft responded: “It’s my understanding that because we are in Super League and not in the NRL that it doesn’t affect us.
“That’s the RNL ruling so he (Orr) can talk to a Super League player and that’s as much as I know about it.”
