St Helens coach Nathan Brown has graciously admitted his side did not deserve anything less than a second defeat in a row when they faced Widnes yesterday.
The Vikings put in a polished display to knock off their neighbours 40-26 and the top spot in Super League.
“With four or five minutes to go, we were still in it, but the score probably reflected the game,” Brown said.
“The guys had plenty of fight in them – 18-4 down and we fought our way back – but credit to Widnes.”
