Burgess attacker ‘apologises unreservedly’

The female Penrith fan who reportedly hit Sam Burgess in the head with a stick following South Sydney’s convincing win over the Panthers has apologised to the 25-year-old.

A statement released by the club said: “The fan has unreservedly apologised for causing any harm to the NRL and the Panthers. They have also offered an apology to Sam and the South Sydney club.

“Appropriate action has been taken against the fan and Panthers, Souths and the NRL are satisfied that the matter has now been resolved.”
