Burgess promises Wigan return

Outgoing Wigan Warriors winger Joe Burgess has assured the club’s fans that he will return to the club one day – and not just that, he’ll win every trophy that’s available to win.

Burgess’ career with the Warriors came to an end after Saturday’s Grand Final loss to Leeds, meaning that in his two years amongst the first team, the winger failed to get his hands on a trophy.

But when speaking to the media after the game on Saturday night, he said that despite a move to Sydney Roosters and the NRL in 2016, he’ll be back at Wigan one day.

“100% it is an unfinished chapter at Wigan,” he said.

“Obviously it is a new chapter going to the Sydney Roosters but I will come back and win everything with Wigan.”
