Burton twins join Goole Vikings

GOOLE VIKINGS’ opponents will be seeing double next season, after coach Brett Ferres secured the signing of twin brothers Joe and Oli Burton.

The 24-year-olds are reunited after playing together at Hunslet and Batley Bulldogs.

Winger Joe spent three seasons with Batley while Oli, a hooker, has had stints over the past two years with Rochdale Hornets and Keighley Cougars.

Both have penned one-year deals and rookie coach Ferres said: “We’ve signed them on merit and they’ll bring some real quality and experience to our side.

“They’re both at a great age with their best years ahead of them. To have more than 200 career games between them at this level is going to be great for our group.”

The Burtons join former Hull KR youngster Nathan Cullen in joining Goole.
