Campese to return before start of the season

Hull KR have been handed a major boost ahead of the start of Super League 2016, after it was revealed by coach Chris Chester that Terry Campese is set to return before the season begins.

Campese hasn’t played since suffering a season-ending knee injury midway through last season, missing out on KR’s run to the Challenge Cup final in the process.

But Chester revealed that things are going well with Campese’s recovery – with the Australian half-back still back home working on the injury before returning to Hull hopefully in time for the start of the new season.

“Terry is training well. I’ve spoken to him and he’s going well,” he told the Hull Daily Mail.

“All reports are that he’s going to be back before the start of the season and we’re looking forward to having him back.

“He’s getting some specialist treatment over there and he’s improving daily.”
