Warrington and England hooker Daryl Clark has left fans in no doubt about the importance of this Sunday’s trip to Castleford – insisting the game is “must win” for their top four chances.
Warrington would be six points behind the top four if they lose to Castleford this weekend – and with just 14 points to play for in the Super 8s, it would make it a tough ask to force their way into the play-offs following the next part of the season.
And Clark told the Warrington Guardian that it’s imperative the Wolves get the win on his return to his hometown club.
“There’s a four-point gap at the minute so this game is a pretty much ‘must win’ otherwise the gap goes to six,” he said.
“It’s a lot more difficult then to try and scrape back the six points, so hopefully we can knock it down to four.”
