Catalans Dragons v Leeds Rhinos preview and 21-man squads

CATALANS DRAGONS will hope for a response from last Saturday’s heavy defeat to French rivals Toulouse Olympique – but face a stern test in Super League leaders Leeds Rhinos.

They’ll need to stop Leeds’ in-form winger Maika Sivo, eight tries clear at the top of the division’s try-scoring charts, as he attempts to equal the Super League record of tries scored in consecutive games.

The Fijian flyer has scored in each of the Rhinos’ last 10 matches, a run stretching back to mid-April, including in the sides’ last meeting.

John Cartwright has made two changes to his Dragons squad, welcoming back Franck Maria from suspension, whilst fellow back-rower Edenn Rogers-Smith could make his debut for the club following his move from Carcassonne.

Lenny Marc and Giovanni Descalzi drop out in their places.

Leeds, meanwhile, have made just one change following their Magic Weekend win over Bradford Bulls, with academy product Alfie Edgell replacing Ryan Hall (foot).

Catalans captain Ben Garcia, who this week announced he is to retire at the end of the season, could make his 300th career appearance, with four Leeds players also in line to bring up milestones during the fixture.

Kallum Watkins could make his 300th Rhinos appearance, Jake Connor and Danny Levi could bring up 200 career appearances, and Tom Holroyd could make his 100th career appearance.
