Colton Roche joins Featherstone

Featherstone Rovers have announced that versatile player Colton Roche has joined the club on a two year deal from Championship rivals Sheffield Eagles. Roche can play in a number of positions namely prop forward, second row and centre and is a product of the Leeds Rhinos academy.
Leeds born Roche signed for Leeds Rhinos academy in 2009 and has won representative honours with Yorkshire in 2008 and England U16’s in 2009. Last year he was selected to play for Ireland qualifying under his mother’s nationality and came off the bench to feature against Scotland and England Knights in the Autumn internationals. In 2012 he was released by the Rhinos and joined Sheffield Eagles. In 2013 he made 19 appearances for the Eagles as they retained the Championship crown.
On signing for the club Colton Roche said “The chance to join Featherstone Rovers was something I could not turn down. The ambition of the club is something I want to be part of. John Bastian was a huge part of my decision to join Rovers as I know he will put the time in to help me improve as a players. I cannot wait to get started with this team and be a part of something special.”
