Haley staying with Hawks

Hunslet Hawks RLFC are delighted to announce that 26 year old prop forward Michael Haley has agreed to stay at South Leeds for 2014 signing a 12 month contract extension.
Haley joined the Hawks in April of this year from Featherstone Rovers and immediately impressed the Hawks supporters with his all action approach making 14 appearances before a broken thumb curtailed his season.
Director of Rugby Darren Williams said “ Michael is a tremendous addition to our 2014 squad, he was a player we earmarked as vital to retain as we look to regain our Championship status at the first attempt, he does what is says on the tin and his aggressive no nonsense approach will make him a stand out figure in our pack.”
He lives in Churwell so he’s just a stones throw away from the stadium and adds another home grown player to our squad which bodes well as we look to strengthen our community links, were under no illusions as to the challenge that lies in front of us but I’m thrilled that we have been able to retain or attract a number of Championship standard players despite relegation.”
Haley added “ I settled in really well at the club over the last 6 months, its ideal for me and I love the family atmosphere down here, I have been made to feel part of the family and my preference was always to stay so I’m happy that my future is secure playing at my local club”
Williams revealed that he is in negotiations with a couple more targets then the squad is almost complete.
