Cookson Raring To Go

New Rochdale Hornets signing David Cookson is delighted to be back in the game after a year out and cannot wait to feature for his home town club.

Cookson’s arrival at Spotland was reported in this Monday’s League Express as the Hornets were left looking for a replacement for Lee Paterson, who may have to leave the club due to his work commitments.

“It is brilliant to be back,” said Cookson, who last played for Oldham in 2014.

“Having a year off has brought back my enthusiasm for the game and I just can’t wait to get stuck in now.

“It is good to sign for Rochdale. I was born here and I have lived here all my life so it will feel good to put on a Rochdale Hornets shirt.

“It will be a really proud moment to be playing in Rochdale for Rochdale and I am looking forward to it.”
