Fa’amanu Brown is not expected to move to Super League before the deadline, TotalRL understands.
The Cronulla halfback has recently been linked with a move from the NRL leaders, with Hull Kingston Rovers inevitably linked with the 21-year-old given Terry Campese’s injury that will keep him out for the rest of the season.
Leigh were also linked with Fa’amanu, namesake of another reported Leigh target Mitch, however it is understood that visa issues would prevent the youngster making the move.
Fa’amanu Brown made his NRL debut at the age of 19 for the Sharks in 2014 but has seen his appearances restricted due to an ACL injury suffered at the start of 2015, while the form of Josh Cleeland and James Maloney have left him struggling to break into the Sharks team this year.
He has played in the club’s last two matches as the Sharks extended their impressive winning run against Zak Hardaker’s Penrith and Sydney Roosters.
