Cronulla’s 15-game winning streak ends

Cronulla Sharks’s winning-streak is over, despite remaining unbeaten in an 18-18 draw with Gold Coast Titans.

In a rare end result, the two teams couldn’t be separated during two-halves of additional time, with the NRL using the golden point rule to decide matches.

It means Cronulla’s 15-game winning streak is over, a run that has seen them charge to the top of the table, although they remain just one point ahead of Melbourne Storm.

The Sharks looked set to win the match in the dying seconds, but reported St Helens target Josh Hoffman prevented them from scoring.

They had gone 12-0 ahead, only for the Titans to score 18 unanswered points.

But Andrew Fifita, brother of Wakefield forward David, crashed over to send it to extra-time.

Cronulla have now gone over four months without losing, with their last defeat coming at the hands of Manly on March 21st.
