LEIGH LEOPARDS will be producing a top-quality heritage shirt for the 2027 season, owner Derek Beaumont has confirmed.
Since Leigh rebranded from Centurions to Leopards in October 2022, the club has released some eye-catching home and away strips.
With the 2027 campaign not too far away, clubs have been designing their new shirts in time for Christmas.
And though the Leopards will be releasing their home shirt before December 25th, their away kit as well as a heritage and Las Vegas shirt will be on sale in the New Year.
Beaumont believes that the heritage kit the Leopards will be bringing out will be extremely popular.
“I’ll always stick to my commercial process of only announcing the home kit before Christmas,” Beaumont said.
“Clearly, everyone is now used to the fact that it is part of the gold card membership that you can get.
“Some people want the home shirt no matter what and the away kit will come out after Christmas.
“We have also got a Las Vegas shirt and we will have a heritage kit.
“We are going to have our own heritage round after Vegas and there’s a jaw-dropping, show-stopping shirt that I think will be mega popular.”
Beaumont traces the attempt to design something different right back to the rebrand of four years ago, insisting that the shackles are off for him and his design team.
“I like to give my design team a free rein and I’m really impressed with what they have done,” he said.
“We have developed some things this year which people will see and I’ve spent two years visiting factories in China – the higher-end ones – to develop this.
“The Debeau brand needs to be moving quite fast-paced to keep to quantities and it’s important that the sponsors love it when they see it.
“At first I was unsure, but it grows on everybody, and by the time it’s out, I always like it.
“I’ll put it out there now, one of the reasons for rebranding to Leopards, it was so we weren’t shackled.
“If you’re shackled to red and white, then how many times can you redesign that?”
