Dewsbury Rams recruit ‘ripping it up’ ahead of festive clash

DEWSBURY RAMS coach Paul March says he’s looking forward to seeing Valu Tanē Bentley in match action after watching him impress in pre-season training.

The 22-year-old forward who spent time in Wigan’s development system has joined from Leigh after playing six times for Keighley this year.

Those outings included one in the second row when Dewsbury beat the Cougars 26-12 in League One at the FLAIR Stadium in March.

Bentley, born in France with New Zealand heritage, raised in the UK and the son of former Oldham player Valu Jack Bentley, was with Keighley in the middle of spells with Leigh, where he played in the Reserves.

He has also had stints in rugby union with Fylde and Sedgley Park.

“He’s ripping it up in training and I’m really looking forward to seeing him in a Dewsbury shirt,” said March, whose side host Batley in their annual Boxing Day challenge match (noon).
