Ellis excluded from Hull’s 19-man squad to face Catalans

Gareth Ellis has not been selected in Hull’s squad to face Catalans on Thursday.

The FC captain has been ‘rested’ ahead of the Challenge Cup Final against Warrington next week, with Lee Radford wrapping his leader in cotton wool ahead of the trip to Wembley.

As a result, Marc Sneyd has returned to the squad after missing last week’s victory over Widnes with an ankle injury. Sneyd’s replacement, Jordan Abdull, also retains his place in the squad after earning the man of the match award despite only being a late replacement for Sneyd.

Meanwhile, Catalans’ injury woe has continued, with Todd Carney, Jodie Broughton and Justin Horo all being ruled out following injury knocks. They are replaced by the young trio of Romain Navarrete, Antoni Maria and Jordan Sigismeau.
