Eorl Crabtree: Super League only getting harder

Huddersfield Giants star Eorl Crabtree says his side must step up a gear if they wish to be considered amongst the league’s elite again in 2014.

The towering prop, 31, believes the combination of strong signings and the re-introduction of relegation will increase intensity across the board.

“It’s clear from the recruitment made by clubs, that things aren’t going to get any easier,” he said.

“That’s the way it should be. There are now more genuine challengers for the title than ever before, and that’s great news for the health of the competition.

“Obviously, we’d love to win all the trophies on offer and that is our ultimate goal.

“We know we’re getting closer to achieving that objective, but if we don’t carry on improving we can forget all about that.

“As I said, there are now more clubs challenging for the top honours, and we want to do everything within our power to make sure we remain in that leading group.”
