Kevin Sinfield: Rhinos hungry for silverware

Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has spoke of his side’s disappointment at finishing the 2013 season with no silverware.

The West Yorkshire giants failed to add a trophy to their cabinet for only the second time in seven years in 2013, and are now determined to end what can only be seen as a drought given their track record.

“We were very determined last year but we weren’t quite good enough,” Sinfield said.

“We are really hungry right now. For a club like Leeds not to win any silverware last year it was tough so we want to make that right this time round.”

Rob Burrow echoed those sentiments. He said: “We’re more determined than ever.

“Of course we are disappointed not to get any silverware, so we want to get involved in the finals and play well and we want to win a trophy.”

However, he believes the signings his club have made, particularly Tom Briscoe, will go a long way to improving their chances.

“The new signings are great,” he said.

“Tom Briscoe, an international winger, fantastic. He’s always been a threat against us.

“It’s nice to have a proper hooker in Paul Aiton coming in, too, who’s been a handful every time we’ve played at Wakefield.”
