Ex-Huddersfield Giants forward Jack Murchie joins new club

FORMER Huddersfield Giants forward Jack Murchie will return to rugby league in his native New South Wales.

Murchie, who joined the Giants ahead of the 2024 campaign, made just 17 appearances over the course of one-and-a-half seasons as injury blighted his time at the Accu Stadium.

As such, the back-rower was released midway through the 2025 season as Huddersfield suffered a raging injury list.

Murchie had been without a club since then, but the 28-year-old will now link up with Thirlmere Tahmoor Roosters in the Macarthur Conference League based in New South Wales.

The 28-year-old began his NRL career with Canberra Raiders, but he registered only three appearances in two seasons before moving on to the New Zealand Warriors.

There, Murchie notched seven tries in 37 appearances in a three-year spell, signing for Parramatta Eels for 2023.
