Halifax confirm Bracek’s departure

Halifax have confirmed the mutual termination of Andy Bracek’s contract.

The utility forward has been at the club since the beginning of 2013, making 87 appearances and scoring 10 tries.

But he has seen his playing time limited this year, which resulted in a recent loan move to Swinton.

With Fax recently signing Ryan Boyle and Matt Sarsfield on loan, the latter of whom has scored seven tries in four appearances so far, Bracek’s prospects were unlikely to improve with the likes of Adam Robinson and Ed Barber already trying to earn a place in the squad.

Halifax head coach Richard Marshall confirmed the former Barrow Raiders star will remain at Swinton for the rest of the season.

“He’ll stay with Swinton for the rest of the year,” Marshall said.

“He’s been doing very well there by all accounts so it’s a good fit.”
