Fax swoop for Moore

Halifax have completed the signing of hooker Brandon Moore on a one-year deal.

The youngster was released by Super League side Castleford at the end of last season after signing professional terms with the club in 2014.

He was voted as Castleford’s under 19s player of the year in 2015, and Fax have been quick to snap him up following his departure from the Tigers.

It has been confirmed that Moore will originally feature in Halifax’s reserve grade side as he continues his development while it will give him the opportunity to impress and push for a first team place.

“Brandon’s taken a look at us and he obviously likes what he sees because he’s backed himself to come here,” said head coach Richard Marshall.

“Initially, he’s signed for the reserve grade, but there are incentives there for him if he make the step up to the first team.

“If I’m being honest, I’m a little surprised that Cas have let him go.

“He’s a strong, dynamic hooker with some skills and some speed and there’s defiantly some potential there for us to work on.”
