Featherstone Rovers stalwart Brad Day heads to Halifax Panthers

HALIFAX PANTHERS have signed experienced forward Brad Day following Featherstone Rovers’ removal from the Championship.

The back-rower has almost 200 second-tier appearances to his name, including spending six of the past seven seasons with Featherstone.

Day was contracted to Rovers for a further two years, but was left without a club when they fell into administration and were subsequently denied a place in the league by the RFL.

It’s a fifth permanent home for the 31-year-old, who began his career at Castleford Tigers and spent four seasons with Batley Bulldogs.

He also played for Newcastle Thunder in 2022 before returning to Featherstone, where he scored 43 tries in 110 appearances overall.

Day’s Halifax debut could come this Sunday when they host community outfit London Chargers in the second round of the Challenge Cup.
