Wigan Warriors fans will not have to wait long to see Ben Flower when his lengthy ban expires, after coach Shaun Wane revealed he will be thrown in straight at the deep end.
Wigan, who have only won two of their opening six games this season, will play Flower as soon as he is available – which means the clash against Warrington Wolves on Thursday 16 April – which is now less than a month away.
And rather than send Flower out on dual-registration to Workington, Wane insists there is no point, as Flower is fit and raring to go as soon as the ban finishes.
“If we’d won every game up until this point it would have been hard to drop my middle men and we could have worked on getting Ben a game somewhere else first,” said Wane.
“As it stands now though, it’s not a hard decision to bring him back into the fray. Ben is on for the Warrington game after Easter, the first one after his ban.”
Wigan entertain bottom club Wakefield Trinity Wildcats this Friday in a bid to pick up just their third win in seven league matches.
